What Most Art Buyers Miss
Hello. I'm Kent Marvin and buying art shouldn’t feel like a gamble.
When I started creating modern abstract work—especially Bauhaus-inspired and design-forward seasonal pieces—I noticed something: most people don’t struggle to find art they like. They struggle with everything that comes after: Is this the right size? Will the colors work in my space? Should I frame it? What makes a print “good”? How do I avoid buyer’s remorse?
So I did the research art buyers are usually missing—and I built my work (and this site) around those answers.

Helvetica Light is an easy-to-read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.
What I learned art buyers actually need
Most buyers don’t need more “art theory.” They need practical clarity:
-
Scale matters more than taste. The same piece can feel perfect or wrong depending on size and placement.
-
Color is context. Lighting, wall color, and surrounding décor change everything.
-
Framing is part of the artwork. A great print can look average in the wrong frame—and museum-level in the right one.
-
Quality is measurable. Paper type, finish, and sharpness matter (especially at larger sizes).
-
A room needs an anchor. Art isn’t decoration last—it’s often the thing that makes the space feel finished.
How that research shows up in my art
I create with real homes in mind—pieces that hold up visually from across the room and reward you up close. You’ll see clean geometry, bold structure, and intentional palettes designed to work in modern interiors (from warm, earthy spaces to crisp minimal rooms). Even my holiday designs aim for “modern décor,” not clutter.
This is more than a shop
Alongside the artwork, I'm sharing what I’ve learned so you can buy with confidence—whether it’s your first print or you’re building a collection. If you’ve ever thought, “I love it… I’m just not sure,” you’re exactly who I made this for.
Explore the collection, and when you’re ready, use the guides to choose size, placement, and framing that makes the piece feel like it belongs.
